Fokearn Employee Sick Pay Scheme

Hi everyone,

With several new faces joining our team over the past few months, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. Given our recent growth, this is a fitting time to provide a clear overview of our official company sick pay policy, which has been in effect since January 6th, 2025.

At Fokearn Engineering Ltd, we do not operate under the standard Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) scheme. Instead, we provide a significantly more advantageous company sick pay scheme managed through the Construction Workers’ Pension Scheme (CWPS)—the same provider that handles your company pension.

When it comes to notifying the company of your absence an employee must communicate this with their manager by calling their mobile at your official start time. Whatsapp and text messages will not be accepted.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

As an active member of the CWPS under our employment, you are covered for standard sick pay benefits for up to 50 days per calendar year if you are absent from work due to illness or injury.

The benefit structure is designed to support you from day one of your absence:

  • The First 5 Days (Per Calendar Year): You are eligible for an enhanced benefit of €125.00 per day.

  • Subsequent Days: Thereafter, the benefit converts to €50.00 per day (equivalent to a weekly rate of €250.00), up to the maximum 50-day limit.

How to Claim

Because this scheme is fully administered by the CWPS, all sick pay claims must be processed directly through them rather than our internal payroll.

To help you navigate this, please find the official documentation and application forms below:

Please ensure you keep copies of any medical certificates required by the CWPS during your application process.

Our priority is to ensure you feel supported when you are unwell, and we are proud to offer a scheme that goes above and beyond standard statutory limits. If you have any questions regarding your membership status, the forms, or how the policy applies to you, please feel free to contact Emma in HR (emma@fokearn.com)

Kind Regards

Andrew Fogarty

Managing Director
